Ages as of August 1, 2010

 

‘1A’ (ages 7-8) Max Offense Back Weight 105 lbs

‘2A’ (ages 9-10) Max Offense Back Weight 125 lbs

‘3A’ (ages 11-12) Max Offense Back Weight 145 lbs

 

***No Weight Limit for Offense or Defensive Lineman***

All Players over the Max Offensive Back Weight will be marked as an X-man

All X-man players will have a black X taped to back of Helmet

 

Game Clock:

·          All Games will consist of four (4) quarters. Each quarter will be ten (10) minute running clock w/ a 5-minute half time.    
    ·          Games will not end in a tie. Both teams will go into overtime. Ball will be placed on the 10-yard line, and each team will have four plays to score.

·         If  neither team scores then the winner will be determined based on penetrations

 

Scoring:

·          A Touchdown is worth 6 points, and extra point (run  = 1 point) pass or kick = 2 points

 

Center Protection:

·          All Tournament levels will have the center protected on declared punts, field goals, and extra points. Rushing will only be allowed in gaps on either side of center at all times during special teams play.

 

X-Man Rules:

·          An X-Man can only play the offensive positions of center, guard, or tackle. He can also act as kicker or punter as long as he abides by the punting and kicking rules outlined herein. He may not be in a position that would otherwise make him an eligible receiver.

·          An X-Man can line up in the tight end position but is not an eligible receiver.

·          An X-Man may line up at any position on the defense, but cannot advance the ball either by running or passing it. In the event that an X-man takes possession of the football (e.g. recovered fumble, intercepted pass, received kick etc.)

·          The ball is declared dead at the point.

 

Punting:

·          An X-man can punt the ball. However if an X-man is acting as punter he must punt the ball.   In the event that he does not punt the ball, but rather tries to advance the ball beyond the line of scrimmage by running, passing, handing or pitching to a teammate, the ball will be declared dead at the line of scrimmage with a loss of down.

 

 
Special “1A (ages 7-8)” Punting:

·          A team cannot rush the punter.   If they do, they will be given a five (5) yard penalty with a replay of the down. The punting team must stay in position until the ball is punted.

·          Any 1A (ages 7-8) only football team may elect to do the 30 yard walk off punt.

·          A team cannot rush the punter.   If they do, they will be given a five (5) yard penalty with a replay of the down. The punting team must stay in position until the ball is punted.

·          Any 1A (ages 7-8) only football team may elect to do the 30 yard walk off punt.

                                                                         

                                                   Special Flag & 1A Rule:

Each team will be allowed to have one coach on the field

at all times in the Flag and 1A divisions.

 

Blocking Rules:

*Crack back blocking is allowed, but has to be above the waist. There will be no blocking below the waist at any time.

 

Time Outs:

·          Each team will have two time outs per half; in the case of overtime each team will be awarded one timeout.

 

Bench Area:

·          The Bench Area is reserved for participating players and team coaches (not to exceed six (6) per team).   Five (5) coaches and one water boy.

·          All coaches and water boy must have sideline pass to enter sideline area.   Security will be at checkpoint of each sideline at all games.

·          The general vicinity of the playing field will be clear except for the presence of ambulance, stadium security personnel and conference officials.   All spectators, including players from other teams, shall view the game from roped areas or bleachers.

·          The first violation of required pass will result in a warning being issued to the head coach of the team involved.   The Second violation and all subsequent violations in the same game shall result in a ten (10) yard penalty.

·          If any individual continually refuses to abide by this rule, it is the home organizations responsibility to contact whatever municipal, or law enforcement agency necessary to have the individual removed from the premises.

 

Time between Plays:

·          Once the ball is marked ready for play, the offensive team has a maximum of   25 seconds to snap the ball.

 

Uniforms:

·          All Players must be uniformed the same.

 

All Teams are Guaranteed 2 games
